Off to a promising start. Even after my candy binge I managed to be down a pound and a half this morning! Sure it’s water weight, but it’s still a lower number on the scale and that’s what I’m going for.
Plus after I dropped my little one off at preschool (yes, year-round) I went to the gym for some core/cardio intervals. I managed to jog 2 laps in a row around the track. (FYI, 9 laps is a mile.) Surely, you say I could work a bit harder…but there are many factors that contribute to that being “a pat on the back.” First off, I am not a runner. I have joint pain (in my hips) and have had it almost my whole life (so I jog in intervals b/c just jogging a straight mile would mean bed rest.) Second, I typically “go hard or go home” so that one lap leaves me a panting mess. Today I found some one to pace myself with and stuck behind him. And lastly, I haven’t done any running for the entire month of July…walking only…yes, I got lazy.
The test of today is whether or not I can make it through another evening at the fair with my sister and her family. Wish me luck!
